  • Why We Picked It: We are fascinated by Mt. Elgon. It hasn't been active for about 24 million years, which makes it the oldest extinct volcano in East Africa. The coffee grown here has become a tradition, with farmers even creating variations of the Arabica plant to resist drought. Modern genetic selection meets the ancient soil of Mt. Elgon.
